Man Shoots Five People in Gardena, 28 Year-Old Female and Another Victim Dead

 

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a female adult that occurred on the Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 3:57 A.M. on the 1200 block of West 135th Street in the city of Gardena.

Gardena Police Department officers responded to the location regarding a shots fired call for service. Upon arrival, the officers observed four people had been shot.

Los Angeles homicide detectives have learned that the suspect was at the location visiting friends. The suspect became upset for unknown reasons and started to shoot at the people with him.

One of the victims was a 28 year-old female Hispanic, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim, a male Hispanic (unknown age) was shot and transported to a local hospital where he is listed in serious condition.

The third victim, a 23 year-old pregnant female Hispanic was shot and transported to a local hospital where she is being treated for her injuries. She and her unborn child are expected to survive. It is believed at this time, the victim is the suspect’s girlfriend.

The fourth victim, a 24 year-old female adult was shot and transported to a local hospital where she was treated and has been released from the hospital.

The suspect then left after the shooting with two people, (husband and wife) that were at the location. When they reached the southbound 710 freeway at the Martin Luther King Boulevard on ramp, in the city of Lynwood the suspect shot and killed a second victim.

The suspect pulled the second victim out of the vehicle, and fled the location in a black KIA Soul. The female passenger was able to get away unharmed.

The known suspect is still outstanding.

The weapon was recovered at the 710 Freeway/Martin Luther King scene.

There is no further information and the investigation is ongoing.

This incident is related to Century Sheriff’s station, homicide investigation at the Southbound 710 freeway and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
