Operation Gratitude Campaign Enjoys Success

Lakewood, CA, (December 7, 2016) – Lakewood Regional Medical Center was proud to sponsor an Operation Gratitude letter writing campaign in honor of our military personnel. Physicians, staff and visitors joined together to participate in this nationwide initiative that sends letters of thanks directly to service members. During the Veteran’s week campaign, Lakewood Regional Medical Center collected over 50 letters to be sent to members of the military.

“We were all inspired when Camden Wheeler, a dedicated JROTC student who participated in the campaign, shared his thoughts about his sister who is currently serving in the United States Navy,” said Lakewood Regional Medical Center CEO John Grah. “He also explained his role in JROTC which gave us an inside view into the life of an aspiring military man.”

The personal touch of taking time to write a simple letter of thanks can make an impact in a military person’s life. Caring for our service members can start with something as simple as letter writing. The Lakewood Regional Medical Center physicians who participated in the campaign expressed gratitude, care and heartfelt prayers for our service personnel, inspiring others to do the same.

Operation Gratitude is a nationwide initiative that sends a care package, along with 5 personal letters, to individual service members. Many of the recipients say they enjoy the letters in their boxes the most. Letters are accepted year round. For more information, visit www.operationgratitude.com.
