Arts Aloud Theater Group located in Bellflower will host an evening with actress, producer and New York Times bestselling author Leah Remini in a discussion of television sitcom acting.
Remini will discuss her work as a situation comedic actress on November 6, 2016 at the Bristol Civic Auditorium. The event is being presented by the Arts Aloud Theater Group in conjunction with Idle Tuesdays Recording Studios as an educational resource for local teens.
Remini is widely known for her role as Carrie Heffernan on the long-running television series, ‘The King of Queens’. She is also credited with ‘The Exes’, her reality show ‘Leah Remini: It’s All Relative’ and Dancing with the Stars where she competed and co-hosted for 2014 / 2015 season. Recently Remini has appeared as a celebrity panelist on ABC’s summer reboot of the ‘Match Game’.
Remini landed her first starring role in the ‘Who’s the Boss?’ spinoff series, Living Dolls opposite Halle Berry, and her first appearance on network television was on an episode of ABC’s Head of the Class.
For nine seasons, Remini starred opposite Kevin James in the hit CBS comedy series, The King of Queens. The sitcom took place in the working-class suburb of Queens, New York, and followed Doug Heffernan (James), an amiable deliveryman, and his wife, spitfire secretary Carrie Heffernan (Remini), as they explored the everyday challenges of love, life, family and marriage. The show continues to enjoy huge success through daily syndication, now airing in over 33 countries where it keeps finding new audiences.
In 2010, Remini helped launch and co-hosted the first season of CBS’ daytime hit talk show, The Talk, which popular female hosts discuss the day’s latest headlines and give their opinions “through the eyes of mothers.”
