Dorothy Owen, President of the 1st CEB, reported she received a check for $586.52 for the Oct 21 1st CEB fundraiser at all California locations of TGI Friday’s. Owen had previously received 44.83, for a total of over $630.
The Cerritos City Council moved to formally adopt the Marines and Sailors of the 1st CEB on Veterans Day, November 11, 2007, when the city and the 1st CEB exchanged proclamations.
Each month, the 1st CEB Adoption Committee and the City of Cerritos welcome a Marine and his guest. The Meritorious Marine, who is selected by the battalion, and his guest receive one night’s stay at the Cerritos Sheraton Hotel, several restaurant vouchers, and a complimentary show at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. They are welcomed by a host, which is an individual, a community service organization, a club or a business, and the mayor and members of the City Council present the Marine with a proclamation from the city.
