There were 25 Part I felony crimes reported in Cerritos this past reporting period, an increase of eight from the previous week.  The following is a breakdown of crimes by category: five residential burglaries, two commercial/other structure burglaries, five vehicle burglaries, two vehicle thefts, and 11 grand thefts.  Cerritos Station deputies made 10 misdemeanor arrests, six warrant arrests, and issued 96 citations.  The Sheriff’s dispatch center also received a total of 396 calls, an increase from the 2015 weekly average of 251.

Residential Burglary:  

12300 block of Edgefield Street (11/01 – Afternoon): The unknown suspect(s) entered the home by shattering a rear window.  US currency, valuables, vehicle keys and a vehicle were stolen.

11600 block of Christy Street (10/30 – Morning): The unknown suspect(s) entered the home by shattering a rear sliding glass door.  An electronic device and valuables were stolen.

11200 block of Beach Street (10/30 – Afternoon): The unknown suspect(s) entered via a rear dog-door that had been left unlocked.  A purse and an electronic device were stolen.

12900 block of Andy Drive (10/28 – Afternoon): The unknown suspect(s) entered the home through a side sliding door that had been left unlocked.  Valuables and Korean currency were stolen.

16600 block of Cobblestone Court (11/01 – Day): The unknown suspect(s) entered the open garage of the home and stole a bicycle.  No entry was made into the interior of the home.

Commercial/Other

Structure Burglary:

11300 block of South Street (10/29 – Overnight): The unknown suspect entered the business through an unlocked rear door, while it was open for business, and made entry into the office.  A safe and a wallet were stolen from the office.

12600 block of 183rd Street (10/26 – Overnight): The unknown suspect(s) entered the business by prying the rear door.  An alarm sounded when the door was forced open.  Nothing was stolen.

Grand Theft:

19300 block of Allingham Avenue (10/27 – Morning): The unknown suspects approached the victim from behind while she was walking down the street and grabbed the purse that was hanging on her shoulder.  The suspects ran to an awaiting vehicle and fled.

10900 block of Alondra Boulevard (10/30 – Morning): The unknown suspect approached the victim from behind as he was walking to his parked car.  The suspect grabbed the phone out of the victim’s hand and fled through the parking lot.

11100 block of 183rd Street (10/30): The unknown suspect(s) entered the store, while it was open for business, and stole an electronic device that was on display.

17500 block of Bloomfield Avenue (10/31 – Morning): The unknown suspect entered the store, while it was open for business, and stole electronic devices that were on display.

11100 block 183rd Street (10/30 – Evening): The unknown suspect(s) entered the store, while it was open for business, and stole several high end purses.  The suspects fled in an awaiting vehicle.

10700 block of South Street (10/31 – Afternoon): The unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole an electronic device and sunglasses.

13700 block of Artesia Boulevard (10/27 – Morning): The unknown suspect stole copper pipes from the location.

12400 block of Cedarcreek Lane (10/29 – 30): The unknown suspect(s) entered the open garage and stole several pieces of sports equipment and miscellaneous tools.

11900 block of South Street (10/29 – Morning): The unknown suspect(s) entered the location, while it was open for business, and stole US currency and a passport from the victim when she left her purse unattended.

19100 block of Holmbury Avenue (10/29 – Morning): The unknown suspect(s) stole two bicycles which had been left on the front porch.

13900 block of Equitable Road (10/26 – Afternoon): The unknown suspects stole a pallet of electronic devices by pretending to work at the location where the items were being delivered.

Vehicle Burglary:

11500 block of South Street (10/30 – Afternoon): The unknown suspect(s) entered a 2014 Toyota Sienna by shattering a window.  A stroller and an electronic device were stolen.

500 Los Cerritos Center (10/28 – Day): The unknown suspect(s) entered a 2003 Toyota Camry and stole a purse.  It is unknown how entry was made.

300 Los Cerritos Center (10/30 – Evening): The unknown suspect(s) entered a 1997 Honda Accord and stole an electronic device and sports equipment.  It is unknown how entry was made.

11600 block of Gonsalves Street (10/28 – 29): The unknown suspect(s) entered a 2007 Nissan Frontier by punching the rear lock on the hatch.  A pair of sunglasses were stolen.

310 Los Cerritos Center (10/30 – Morning): The unknown suspect(s) entered a 2015 Hyundai van by cutting the lock on the rear latch.  Several electronic devices were stolen.

Grand Theft Auto:

10900 block of Alondra Boulevard (10/28 – Evening): The unknown suspect(s) stole a 2002 Ford Econoline from the parking lot.

12700 block of Towne Center Drive (11/01 – Evening): The unknown suspect(s) stole a 2011 Toyota Camry from the parking lot.
