NORWALK, Calif. – May 7, 2015 – Following a nationwide search, Cerritos College announced today that its Board of Trustees has named Dr. Jose Fierro as its new president/superintendent. The Board unanimously selected Dr. Fierro during its board meeting held on May 6. His start date will be determined pending negotiations.

Dr. Fierro currently serves as the vice-president of academic affairs and chief academic officer at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Prior to joining Laramie County Community College, Dr. Fierro served as an academic dean, associate dean of liberal arts and sciences, and professor of biological sciences at Florida State College. Dr. Fierro earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Applied Sciences in Bogotá, Colombia, a Master of Science degree in leadership and management of educational programs from Nova Southeastern University in Ft.
