Controversial Central Basin Municipal Water District Director Leticia Vasquez has been officially removed as the agencies representative to the Metropolitan Water District Board of Directors after a vote was taken at the Commerce based public agency on Monday morning.

Vasquez has been a lightning rod on the Central Basin Water District since her election back in 2010. Vasquez will be replaced by Director Phil Hawkins on the powerful MWD Board of Directors.

Hews Media Group-Community Newspaper exclusively reported that Vasquez filed a whistle blower “Qui Tam” law suit in August 2013 against the very agency she was elected to serve, an unprecedented move that could have netted her over $2 million dollars in damages.

Also on Monday the Central Basin Water District hired well known attorney Arnold Glasman to serve as legal counsel for the embroiled agency.

Glasman replaces former attorney Rick Olivarez.

  • Council of Thieves says:

Word is circulating in that your own city of Cerritos is looking to increase water rates by 70% over the next 7 years. Don’t know if that’s accurate, but wouldn’t be surprised.

What’s wrong with this picture is everyone wants to point fingers at the is queen of political distrust.

Don’t get me wrong she’s part of the problem. A big ugly part. Then again so is every city council member and political office holder who hasn’t taken a public stand against her. If the Cerritos city council wants to raise water rates 60% on their own residents maybe, just maybe they should aim at cutting the ugly fat on the water board, before they go to their resides and force them to pay for bail-out!
