Commerce Mayor Tina Baca Del Rio

Hews Group Community Newspaper has learned that Commerce Mayor Tina Baca Del Rio was rushed to an area hospital on Tuesday morning after the Los Angeles County Fire Dept. received a 911 call at her Astor street residence.
Tony Akins, an inspector with the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that a call from an adult female requesting medical need was received by their dispatchers at 8:49 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Witnesses who live near Baca Del Rio’s residence called HMG-CN and said that the mayor was taken via stretcher out of her home and into an awaiting ambulance.
Akins would not confirm or deny if Baca Del Rio was the patient involved.
“I cannot confirm or deny per LA County Fire Dept. policy the name of the identity of the person involved at the scene, at this time,” Aikins said;
The neighbor of Baca Del Rio told the newspaper, “I saw her when they rolled her out and she was sitting up on the gurney and her husband followed her to the area hospital in his car, it happened very quickly.”
Commerce City Spokesperson Jason Stinnett said, “The city would be issuing a statement about the situation later this afternoon.”
