Officials said one person was killed Monday afternoon in an underground vault explosion in Huntington Beach in the 16200 block of Tisbury Circle. Specific details of the explosion are still being gathered by both law enforcement officials as well as from Southern California Edison.
SCE took to its Twitter account on Monday afternoon to announce the incident: “We’ve been notified of an incident at a #HuntingtonBeach facility. First responders are on site. More info to follow.”
There are currently 353 customers without power in Huntington Beach, and restoration time is unknown. A search of Google maps indicates that the area of the explosion in located in the upscale Huntington Harbor area.
