A taxi cab driver has suffered what appears to have been a major heart attack while driving his vehicle on Artesia Boulevard and Shoemaker Avenue in Cerritos on Thursday afternoon at around 5:25 p.m.
Members of the Los Angeles County Fire Department as well as members of the Cerritos Sheriff’s Station responded to the scene within minutes to begin CPR.
One witness told Hews Media Group-Community Newspaper that he saw the driver of the Long Beach Yellow Cab “grab his chest, and then he slumped over his steering wheel.”
The man was rushed away to an area hospital by 5:39 p.m. His condition is unknown.
