A glass motif gas station in Cerritos was used on Monday as a backdrop for a new national television ad campaign featuring a new model four-door Chevrolet Silverado model truck.
Traffic around Bloomfield Avenue and Artesia Boulevard was interrupted throughout the day for the filming that required the Chevron Gas Station to be closed to the public.
At least a dozen large film production trucks were parked along Artesia Boulevard to accommodate the technical aspects of the shoot.
An abandoned shopping center located at the same intersection was used as a site for meals, restroom facilities as well as a resting area for those involved in the commercial.
“This is a great location for filming and the star of our commercial is the amazing new truck,” said one worker who did not want to be identified.
A brand new cherry red colored Chevy truck sat under a bay of studio lights with a sweltering sun that was bearing down on a production staff of several camera operators, sound engineers and set designers.
Look for the commercial to air later this year.

Randy, this is the best photo you have ever taken. Kind of goes against the city outlook on RV’s, as the Tricked out Cerritos Trunk would be primo for:
1. 5th Wheeler RV.
2. RV Jet Ski Hauler.
3. Horse Hauler.
4. Dune Buggy Hauler.
5. Slide in Self Contained Camper.
6. Boat Hauler.
7. Travel Trailer Hauler.
8. Pipe Rack Truck .
9. Hauling Surfboards and wind surfers.
Bring back RV’s to fill all of the residential empty RV Pads in all of Cerritos Property Owners.
Bet city manager and Shadow Park HOA are really upset over the Truck subject and the Cerritos Asian ears are worn off, over not shooting Toyota Rice Rockets.
Hurray for MADE IN AMERICA!!!
