Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the human remains found in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue, Montebello.
Detectives have learned that a bicyclist on the bike path saw what he believed to be human skeletal remains near the path and contacted Montebello Police Department (MPD). Officers from MPD, responded, confirmed the remains were human, and then contacted Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau.
Homicide detectives responded along with personnel from the Coroner’s Office. The remains were collected by the Coroner’s Officer, who will attempt to identify the remains and determine the cause of death.
