This is BREAKING NEWS in La Mirada:
Unsubstantiated rumors have resulted in an increased presence by sheriff’s deputies at La Mirada High School on Friday morning, Dec. 21.
During the past 72 hours, Norwalk Sheriff’s Station deputies received reports that an unspecified threat was made against the school.
“At this point of the investigation, there is no specific information that the threat is credible, or to identify the source or wording of the alleged threat. It appears to be spoken concerns only,” said Captain Pat Maxwell, Norwalk Sheriff’s Station.
Sheriff’s deputies continue to work closely with school officials to ensure the safety of the students. This will include, but not be limited to, a heavier than normal policing presence throughout the final school day before Winter Break. Please feel free to speak with the deputies you see and ask questions or comment about what is on your mind about school safety.
