A self-proclaimed gang member was caught in the act of criminal graffiti vandalism in the men’s room of the Sheriff’s Academy in Whittier on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 5.
A Sheriff’s lieutenant went into the men’s room at the Sheriff’s Academy and soon heard a scratching sound coming from the stalls. When he looked to see what was causing the sound he saw the suspect writing letters on the stall door with a black marker.
The lieutenant detained the suspect for vandalism and Norwalk Sheriff’s Station deputies were called to the Academy. The lieutenant was wearing a green uniform jacket with the word ‘SHERIFF” on the front and back.
The suspect was identified as 31-year old Jordan Trevor Lucas, a resident of Whittier. He told deputies that he had taken a short-cut across the Academy grounds.
He was booked at Norwalk Sheriff’s Station for one count of misdemeanor vandalism. He has a court appearance on November 29, 2012 at Whittier Court.
