One component left out of the equation, the sales propaganda surrounding the sheriff’s station included a free centralized burglar monitoring station for all the 15,000 homes in the city of Cerritos. With the new technology today, surprised this hasn’t been researched more. Monitoring station would cut down on the amount of burglaries throughout the city. Maybe this could be funded by vacating overnight parking ordinance for a few years, so a budget could be built to support a centralized monitoring station.
$250K budget for proposed Sheriff tribute sculpture is waste of money and only being used for political advertising. Rather see $250K Arts budget ( earmarked funds) divided and distrusted throughout the cities borderline tracts, where there is no art in public places.
