The Norwalk Sheriff’s announced that Tommy Anthony Gutierrez, a 37 year-old male Hispanic and a resident of City Terrace surrendered himself this morning at 9 a.m. and was booked for felony hit and run and driving with a suspended license in connection with the hit and run that occurred Saturday morning in Norwalk.
His bail was set at $50,000.
Gutierrez allegedly hit 26-year-old Efren Virgen while driving a party bus around 2:30 a.m. Saturday while Virgen was walking home on Fairford Avenue south of Ratliffe Street.
On advice of his attorney Gutierrez gave no statement.
Gutierrez was positively identified by people who were on the bus and the bus’ owner.
