A 41-year-old man fatally shot while waiting for a bus in Norwalk this past week has been identified as Edward Simental.
Simental, who is also a resident of Norwalk was shot about 6:20 p.m. this past Sunday at the 13200 block of Rosecrans Avenue, just west of Carmenita Road.
Simental died at the scene, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told Hews Media Group-Community Newspapers.
Sheriff’s Lt. John Corina told members of the media that an unknown gunman got out of a white van, shot Simental several times, then got back in and fled south on Claressa Street.
A motive for the attack has not been established. Anyone with more information about the killing was asked to call sheriff’s detectives at (323) 890-5500.
