Political newcomer Mariana Rios has captured a seat on the Hawaiian Gardens City Council and voters have also returned incumbent city council members Reynaldo “Rey” Rodriguez and Barry Bruce in Tuesday’s Consolidated Election.
For Rios, this is her first time seeking elected office, as well as her first victory.
Longtime Hawaiian Gardens city councilwoman Michi Oyama-Canada finished 23 votes behind Rios and landed in fourth place.

And the ‘beat’ goes on in Hawaiian Gardens. More of the unintelligent and NON informed voters trump sanity AGAIN. Bruce and Rodriguez should have been DUMPED into a garbage can! All have seen what they can and will do -yet they returned them to office to CONTINUE the felony! Similar to the illegal alien kenyan in DC! Hard to compete with santa claus anymore.. now old HG can look forward to more and more contentious city council meetings and not much getting done. What else is new for democrats? Same old same old AGAIN and AGAIN!
Such ignorance!! Its obvious they were brought back because of the changes they have made, money they have saved the city and the money they found that was “lost” not missing!! They
have worked with the people! what a shame you make it a racial thing! wow, wonder who voted for, the lady who needed to retire, and was only on as the puppet for the other two, to make their own decisions on spending city money on their golf trips. Such ignorance, but finally you will see change!!!
