Official records obtained by Hews Media Group-Community Newspaper from the Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters confirm that Montebello Unified School Board Candidate Lani Cupchoy has never voted in a Los Angeles election.
HMG-CN also verified that Cupchoy registered to vote in Montebello on May 5, 2013.
Cupchoy is waging an aggressive and costly campaign in the upcoming election that will be held on Tuesday, November 5 against three current school board members in the greater Montebello-Commerce area.
Her website states : “My 20 year professional experience with the district as a lifelong Montebello resident, volunteer, and community organizer provides a unique experience to advocate for quality education and fiscal accountability. With the support of Montebello Unified teachers, I now request your vote for the M.U.S.D. Board of Education.”
HMG-CN received a certified copy of Cupchoy’s official voting history on Thursday. The affidavit is signed by Dean Logan, Registrar Recorder for the County of Los Angeles.
Cupchoy is facing off against current Montebello Unified School Board Members Geri Guzman, Hector Chacon, and Benjamin Cardenas.
Calls into Ms. Cupchoy were not returned.
