It is one of the most popular series on television with one of the most respected actors in Hollywood and last week the cast and crew of “Dexter” landed at the Los Cerritos Center for a day of location filming.
Star Michael C. Hall, who portrays “Dexter” in the hit Showtime series spent an entire day with nearly 50 to 75 crew members who work feverously to capture a segment of an episode that is slated to air during this current season.
Hall was filmed at a makeshift “exercise equipment” kiosk that was built for the day’s production shoot near the Perry Ellis, Cache and Godiva Chocolate stores.
The entire palm court section of the center was crafted into an upscale mall in Florida.
Several local Cerritos area residents were utilized as “extras” during the filming.
The series has become a ratings hit for Showtime and has a “cult like” following.
“He’s a blood expert in the Miami Police Department forensics department. This is sometimes a conflict of interest because Dexter is also a serial killer,” a fan website claimed about the series
“Dexter preys on murderers that have avoided the legal justice system. When Dexter was a toddler, he witnessed the brutal slaying of his mother, and as a result, a penchant for blood and violence was ingrained in the child,” the show’s publicist touts. “His foster father, Harry, attempted to cultivate this trait by teaching Dexter how to kill responsible, safely and by always following the number-one rule: Don’t get caught.”
The episode will air this current season. The exact air date has not been announced.
