Hews Media Group-Community Newspaper has learned that gunshot residue was found on the hand of the Levette Crespo, the wife of slain Bell Gardens Mayor Daniel Crespo.

HMG-CN has also learned that investigators did not find any gunshot residue on the hands of Crespo’s 19-year-old son Daniel Crespo Jr.

Sources tell HMG-CN that Levette Crespo will be holding a press conference with Norwalk-based attorney Eber Bayona tomorrow at 11 a.m. in front of Bell Gardens City Hall.

Bayona has been a personal family friend of both Mayor Crespo and his wife Levette for at least the past decade.

HMG-CN spoke to an assistant of Bayona on Wednesday night and she confirmed that the press conference would be held but would not elaborate on what would be discussed.

Crespo was shot at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday inside of his family’s residence located at the 6300 block of Gage Avenue.

Crespo died after his wife, Levette, shot him several time inside the Vinas La Campana complex.

HMG-CN has been told that Crespo and his wife were inside their master bedroom, then an argument ensued, and his son, 19-year old son Daniel Jr., jumped in between his parents.

No arrests have been made in the case.
