By Rico Dizon

A series of summer concerts each focusing on the music of different eras will be held in Lakewood this summer and residents are urged to mark their calendars about the free popular events.

Beginning on June 19 and continuing until August 7 the concerts will be held at Del Valle Park on Woodruff Avenue and Arbor Road.

The concerts are being funded by members of the business community in and around the Lakewood community.

Lakewood’s Public Relations Manager Bill Grady told Hews Media Group-Community Newspapers that, “This year’s concert will feature an interestingly  changing variety of music that is popularly reflective to the respective eras from the 50’s to the present and covering 60 years of Lakewood as a City.”

“As everybody knows the city just celebrated its 60 anniversary, and the concerts will bring back the memories and nostalgia of the past,” Grady said

The summer concerts provide residents relaxing evenings of family fun in the grove. Grady also said that residents and guests who attend will be able to purchase food and drinks during the event or they can bring their own picnic baskets, lawn chairs and blankets.
