NORWALK
Friday the 13th turned out to be an unlucky day for a group of would-be house burglars in Norwalk.
On December 13, at approximately 11:50 am, an alert and vigilant citizen reported suspicious persons in the backyard of a neighbor’s residence on the 12000 block of Abingdon Street.
Norwalk Station Patrol Deputies responded and observed the suspects fleeing on foot north through the backyards of several homes in the area. Highly trained and skilled deputies contained the area and ultimately arrested three male adult suspects. They were charged with burglary and booked into the Norwalk Station Jail. The suspects were not from the Norwalk area.
Stolen property from the burglarized residence was recovered from multiple backyards in the area.
The arrest of these suspects is an example of public participation and partnership with the Sheriff’s Department in stopping criminal activity within the community.
Anyone with information involving crimes is urged to contact law enforcement. Information can also be provided anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477); by texting the letters TIPLA plus the crime tip to CRIMES (274637).
