Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a dead body on Thursday, July 11, at approximately 3:30 PM, in the 1500 block of North Peck Avenue, Manhattan Beach.

Detectives have learned that city workers were moving a dirt pile when a suspiciously wrapped object appeared. They summoned Manhattan Beach Police Department officers, who determined the object to be a human body.

Due to the condition of the body, the race, age, identification and length of time deceased will be determined by the Coroner’s Office.
