NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.
Five people have been killed on Memorial Day in a horrific car accident in Newport Beach.
The accident took place at 5:18 p.m. near the intersection of Jamboree Road and Island Lagoon Drive.
It is being reported that the vehicle involved was traveling southbound on Jamboree Road at a high rate of speed when it veered into the center divider and slammed into a tree.
The names of the victims have not been made public and the immediate area surrounding the scene was closed to traffic.
