Los Cerritos Community Newspaper has been able to confirm that 11 different people were involved in contributing the necessary $1.16 million in property and collateral needed to secure the release of Los Angeles County Assessor John R. Noguez on Friday.

Morris DeMayo, the bail bonds agent for Noguez, told LCCN in an exclusive interview on Friday afternoon that the amounts of contributions to the bail fund range from $5,000 to $15,000 and that one longtime friend of the former Huntington Park mayor and councilman also chipped in $600,000.00 in collateral by putting up a piece of property.

DeMayo said that he would not be allowed under law to release the names of the individuals who were responsible for participating in the bond until at least mid-April when Noguez is expected to be appearing back in a Downtown Los Angeles court room.

LCCN will publish all of the names of those individuals who contributed to the bail fund as soon as they are made public.

Max Huntsman, Deputy District Attorney for Public Integrity also told LCCN in an interview on Friday afternoon that Noguez will should be released at around 10 p.m.. “Assessor Noguez will have to pass a medical exam from doctors inside the jail before he can be released,” Huntsman said.

Huntsman said that Noguez will be released and taken by DeMayo to an awaiting car where it is expected that he will be driven to his Olive Avenue home in Huntington Park by around midnight.

“We have lifted all of the holds on Assessor Noguez, and he will be under a tight set of rules and will be monitored carefully,” Huntsman said.

DeMayo said that the individuals who contributed to the bail fund are “close longtime friends of Noguez; these aren’t well known people, just people who were willing to step up.”

One of Noguez neighbors in Huntington Park told LCCN in an interview on Friday that he is “not looking forward to having John back home.”
“Listen, we live here, and we hope that our community isn’t turned into a media circus,” the source who did not want to be named said.
