Gaughen tenders resignation as Cerritos Chamber executive for job with health care provider

Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Catherine Gaughen has tendered her resignation effective May 4 for a new position with hospital giant Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, Los Cerritos Community News has learned.

Gaughen, told LCCN that she has “mixed emotions” about leaving the Cerritos business organization but is “excited” about her new slot as Director of Public Affairs for Kaiser Permanente based on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

“I have an amazing staff, and this is a decision I do not take lightly,” she said in a telephone interview.

Gaughen, a native of Orange County, is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara and before joining the Cerritos Chamber served in a similar capacity in Santa Barbara.

“I have dedicated the last ten years of my life to this community, and my heart will never leave this area,” Gaughen said.

An official announcement from Gaughen about her departure is scheduled to be released later Tuesday afternoon.

“The Board of Directors have been told,” she said.
