CERRITOS, CA – Six-time Grammy Award winner DIONNE WARWICK
takes the spotlight in a concert of her all-time greatest hits at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) on Saturday, September 28 at 8:00 PM. Tickets start at $60.
Discovered by Burt Bacharach and Hal David in 1961, the music icon has earned legions of fans and countless awards with more than 100 million records sold and 75 chart-busting hits, including Don’t Make Me Over, Walk on By, Say a Little Prayer, A House Is Not a Home, Alfie, and Heartbreaker. Warwick was nominated for 14 Grammys and won for the hits Déjà Vu, That’s What Friends Are For, Do You Know the Way to San Jose?, and I’ll Never Fall In Love Again.
The Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient was the first African-American solo female artist of her generation to win the prestigious award for “Best Contemporary Female Vocalist
Performance.”
In 1985, Warwick recorded That’s What Friends Are For, which became a No. One hit worldwide, raising awareness and major funding for AIDS research, which she continues to support to this day. She also participated in the all-star charity single We Are the World and performed at the Live Aid concert, which raised money to fight the Ethiopian famine. Warwick, who was the recipient of the prestigious 2017 Marian Anderson Award for her career accomplishments and philanthropy, was honored in the PBS Television Special Then Came You and named 2019 Ambassador to the Smithsonian Institute’s Year in Music.
Warwick’s recent album is She’s Back and the crooner just
wrapped up a Las Vegas residency at the Jubilee Theater at Bally’s hotel.
