Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives responded to the 22300 block of Ibex Avenue, Hawaiian Gardens, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult.
Homicide detectives have learned that Lakewood Sheriff Station personnel received a call of a gunshot victim down at the location.
Deputies responded to the location and found the unresponsive victim lying on the front yard suffering from gunshot wounds.
Witnesses reported the victim was shot by a suspect who had exited a Jeep Cherokee. The suspect then fled in the vehicle which was last seen westbound on 223rd Street.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Evidence of the shooting was recovered near the scene.
There is no additional information available at this time, and the investigation is still on-going.
