Bellflower Dog Park Ribbon Cutting

Area residents enjoy the new Flora Vista Dog Park Dog Park in Bellflower. The 16,000 square foot facility has three divided areas. The first of the three will be a small dog park at 3,800 square feet; the other is for large dogs measuring 11,700 square feet and a final separation run as an introduction area. The City owns the land, at 9203 Flora Vista Street in Bellflower, but had leased the area to Hollywood Sports Park. The Park was not utilizing this area, and the owners relinquished the space back to the City.

The Flora Vista Dog Park opened with a huge fanfare from dogs and their people, March 17, 2015.  Mayor Sonny Santé Ines stated, “It’s a manifestation of our commitment to Bellflower residents,” Santé Ines continued, “as you recall – you came to us and said you wanted a dog park. We heard you, we secured the space and here we are!”

From its inception, the park was designed specifically for dogs. Unlike other cities that may carve out an area within an existing park, this one was built specifically for dogs, and not as an appendage to another facility or people park. Koops stated this is strictly for the dogs and people are invited.  The 16,000 square foot facility has three divided areas. The first of the three will be a small dog park at 3,800 square feet; the other is for large dogs measuring 11,700 square feet and a final separation run as an introduction area. The park will surround the entire facility with a six foot vinyl-dipped chain link fence and will provide waste dispensers and bags.  Picnic areas; resting benches, as well as drinking fountains for humans and their four legged best friends will be installed.  A parking lot with nine parking spaces, including one ADA van accessible space is currently under construction. As a touch of canine whimsy two dog-bone shaped concrete planters and benches will be housed in the large dog facility.

Photo is mostly white residents, not the immigrant trash residing on Cerritos Council and commissioners. Lakewood, Downey, Bellflower home to dark parks, wherein, Cerritos dog owners have to prance their pooches in the street and sh….t on public private. Mentality of immigrants in Cerritos, leaves me mad as hell.

Well Solansky and JW Edwards, better to something., instead of cruising in your foreign made imports cars.
