The founder and former owner of a natural supplement company was sentenced today for the attempted murder of his wife, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Deputy District Attorney Emily Cole said Dino Guglielmelli was sentenced to nine years in state prison.
Guglielmelli pleaded no contest to attempted murder on June 13 before Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Lloyd Nash of the San Fernando Branch.
Guglielmelli, owner of Creation’s Garden, approached a business associate on several occasions asking him to kill his wife for $80,000, Cole said. On Oct. 1, 2013, with help from the police, the business associate recorded a conversation where Guglielmelli arranged the killing.
On the recording –played in part at the preliminary hearing– Guglielmelli was asked how their two daughters were going to be after their mother was dead. Guglielmelli is heard saying, “They’re totally fine. All they need is their dad.”
The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Major Crimes Bureau.
