UPDATE: Standoff Over on Hartshook Avenue in North Hollywood; Suspect Arrest

UPDATE:

The situation on Hartshook Avenue in North Hollywood has come to an end when members of the Los Angeles Police Department took the suspect into custody at around 3 p.m.  The name of the suspect has not been made public to members of the media.

A male Hispanic suspect armed with what appeared to be a semi-automatic rifle that he pointed on several occasions directed at law enforcement officers during a wild car chase has barricaded himself in home on the 11500 Block of Hartshook Avenue in North Hollywood.

The suspect in wanted in connection with a criminal threats report.

The standoff with police is being carried live on television news outlets throughout Southern California.

Police say that they know the name of the suspect, but are only describing him as a “Hispanic male in his 40’s, who is wanted on Domestic terrorism charges.”

SWAT members have converged on the area.  One witness told a reporter from ABC 7 during a live report that “this looks like something out of a scene of a movie.”

North Hollywood High School is on lock down, put no students are on the campus due to Summer break.

No shots have been fired.
