Anaheim, June 3, 2014 – The Auxiliary of West Anaheim Medical Center awards scholarships totaling $9,000 to students pursuing careers in the medical and healthcare fields at their annual scholarship tea held June 6th. The students are currently receiving education and training in nursing, medicine, nutrition, social work and information technology.
Receiving scholarships were: Jason Magallanes, Nichole Escamilla, Teofilia Ghita, Antonio Marshall, Alexandra Munoz, Yagnika Patel, Weam Alkhatib, Kristy Bolster, and Rachel Slaton.
The Auxiliary of West Anaheim Medical Center operates a gift shop and fund raising activities; all of which fund the medical and healthcare scholarships they provide. The Auxiliary was incorporated in 1964, the year West Anaheim Medical Center was opened, and has awarded 867 medical and healthcare scholarships totaling over $427,000 since their inception 50 years ago.
