[UPDATE] Paramount High, Roosevelt School, Wirtz School placed on Lock Down; SUSPECT STILL AT LARGE

UPDATE: The suspect is described as a 25 year old Male Hispanic 5’9″ 160 lbs black hair, black shorts and shirt. He is still at large as of 3 p.m., Friday afternoon. 

Three school campuses in Paramount have been placed on lock down on Friday afternoon as members of law enforcement search for an armed felony suspect.

Operation Safe Streets(OSS) investigators and deputies from Lakewood Station are searching the area of Century Boulevard and Downey Avenue, Paramount, for an armed felony suspect.

Paramount High School, Roosevelt Elementary School, and Wirtz Elementary School have been placed on lock-down. The suspect is described only as a male Hispanic.  There is no further information at this time.

If you see the suspect or have any information about him, immediately dial 911. The command post is at “All-American Park” 13330 Orizaba Avenue, Paramount.
