Youngest Artesia Punisher squad concludes summer with a runner-up performance

The 2012-2013 travel ball season has ended for softball teams and next month will begin a brand new season for the Artesia Punishers program, among others. Listed below is a recap of the final major tournaments for four Artesia Punisher teams, the Cerritos Girls Softball Association 14-Under Infinity All-Star team and the Norwalk Girls Softball 10-Under All-Star team. The first two, or three, games listed for each team indicates pool play games in their respective tournaments.

Rachel Hermann batted .579 in the non-pool play games, second best among all 12-Under players and only four points behind Tianna Jacques of the Castro Valley Synergy. Hermann had 11 hits, scored 10 runs and had two doubles. Pitcher Kendall Henscheid struck out 30 batters in 25 innings, the third highest total for this age division.
