(Cypress)  A quiet Cypress neighborhood became a scary crime scene on Saturday that ended in the death of a male suspect.

At approximately 6:50 a.m., Cypress Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Orangewood and Valley View in regards to a subject who was walking down the street carrying a knife.

The subject was described as a male Black, wearing tan shorts and no shirt.  Upon the officer’s arrival, the subject matching the description was observed running through Manzanita Park, then across Panay Street, a residential area in the south of the City.  The subject ran into the back yard of a residence on Panay out of sight of pursuing officers.

After establishing a perimeter around the location, a broken window was found to the rear of a residence in the 11500 block of Panay St., which showed signs of forced entry into the residence.  A short time later, smoke was seen coming from the house, which ultimately became fully engulfed.  The Orange County Fire Authority responded to extinguish the blaze.
