UPDATE: 4:05 EST: Two people have been confirmed dead and 22 injured according to Boston police officials.
Two massive explosions have rocked the finish line at the Boston Marathon at Copley Square and it appears that many people have been injured and that deaths have also taken place.
The explosions took place at around 3 p.m. Boston time while thousands of runners were still in the process of completing the race.
The official number of those injured and or killed have not been released by Boston Police officials.
The explosions were caught on camera and it appears that one of the bombs was located in a building near the finish line.
Officials from the Boston Marathon put the following notice on its Facebook page at 3:50 p.m.: “There were two bombs that exploded near the finish line in today’s Boston Marathon. We are working with law enforcement to understand what exactly has happened.”
