Beckie Mendez, the wife of veteran Norwalk City Councilman Mike Mendez died Thursday after a long battle with cancer at a hospital in Orange County.

I am alumni of Santa Fe High School. Mike was an instrutor of mine & a close friend of our family. My fondest memory of Beckie was when she was pregnant with her 1st Lauren. We as students (back then) had a babyshower for her at the beach. I will continue to keep her bright, beautiful & contagious smile & memory in a special place in my heart. My deepest condolences & prayers to the Mendez family.

Our hearts go out to the Mendez Family. We met Beckie through MTU. So generous with support of my daughter’s theatre aspirations and never a more generous heart. Truly will miss our shared moments of catching up on our “children” whether it was in CA or NY, always did it. Truly will miss her beautiful offerings of life. What a gift to us all!
