A bank on Valley View was the scene of a robbery and bomb scare, that resulted in the evacuation of a nearby neighborhood.
On Saturday, the Garden Grove Police received a call of a robbery at the Chase Bank, 12555 Valley View.
According to a statement by GGPD members, the suspect showed an employee a device that appeared to be explosive.
“The suspect demanded money and forced the employee into the safe. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect exited the bank via the north doors. The employee no longer was able to see the device and the suspect threatened that he left it inside the bank,” the statement read.
The bank along with surrounding businesses was evacuated.
Deputies from the OCSD Bomb Squad responded and conducted a search of the bank. No device was located
