For the second time in less than three hours, and less than 50 yards apart, a major accident has shut down traffic on Artesia Boulevard and Shoemaker Avenue in Cerritos on Tuesday.

At around 12:40 p.m., an ambulance and a passenger vehicle collided head on at the corner of Shoemaker Avenue and Artesia Boulevard. Both the ambulance and car, a white two-door compact, struck each other head on.
Rescue workers quickly responded and medical aid has been rendered at the scene.
Three hours earlier a truck piled into a tree, a street center divider, and another vehicle on Artesia Boulevard at the 91 Freeway exit of Shoemaker Avenue.
Several rescue workers were on the scene. Traffic in both directions on Artesia Boulevard was closed down. No official report on number of injuries. Photo By Los Cerritos Community Newspaper
