By Brian Hews

As the heat in Southeast Los Angeles County continues to soar, a power outage has left more than 300 customers in the Bellflower area without power on Saturday.

According to a spokesperson at Southern California Edison, more than 330 customers were without power beginning at 11:13 a.m. due to equipment problems. The estimated restoration time for power will be approximately 6:45 p.m. The area that is impacted is near Bellflower Boulevard and Jefferson Street.

“Crews have been dispatched to the area and are in the process of completing repairs,” residents are being told on a company website.

The cause of the outage is believed to be equipment damage.
