A 17-year old male is lucky to be alive after being shot six times on Monday night at the intersection of Mapledale Avenue and Maidstone Avenue in Norwalk.
The incident took place at around 8:25 p.m., according to Lt. Woolum of the Norwalk Sheriff’s Station.
Sheriff’s received an emergency call about “gun shots fired” and when they arrived at the scene they located the victim who had been shot twice in the abdomen, one to the left hand, one to the left wrist, one to the left hand and one to the left elbow.
Woolum told Los Cerritos Community Newspaper Group that the victim was “lucky to have survived.”
He was transferred to an area hospital and underwent surgery on Tuesday. His name has not been released since he is a minor, and Woolum would not confirm where the victim residence, and he apparently is “not cooperating with investigators.”
LCCN will continue to update this situation as additional details are released.
