CAR-MA-GEDDON: 55-Hour Weekend Closures on US 101 for Pavement Rehabilitation

We all probably  know that one pothole on the 101 Freeway off ramps…thanks to the gas tax it is getting fixed!

LOS ANGELES— The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) continues a pavement rehabilitation project on US 101 near downtown Los Angeles to improve the condition of the lanes and create a smoother ride for motorists. This project requires full directional and 55-hour closures. This weekend’s closures are:

Friday, August 10 through Monday, August 13 (10 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

  • 55-hour closure of southbound US 101 1st Street off-ramp and 7th Street off-ramp

A signed detour will be posted for motorists’ convenience. Motorists should expect delays and are strongly advised to use alternate routes, avoid the area, or use public transit. Additionally, motorists can check traffic conditions before they leave by visiting the Caltrans Quickmap.

RV Concrete, Inc. is the contractor on the $15.8 million pavement rehabilitation project that is scheduled to last until winter 2019. Pending closures are planned for following weekends and subject to change.

Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
