Bus Collision
LAKEWOOD (CNS) – The driver of a Long Beach Transit bus was trapped and
six passengers injured in a collision with a pickup truck in Lakewood today.
The collision occurred at Woodruff Avenue and Centralia Street in
Lakewood at 6:11 p.m., said a dispatcher for the Los Angeles County Fire
Department. As of 6:50 p.m., paramedics were still trying to free the driver.
The collision sent the bus careering into a light pole, the dispatcher
said.
Five ambulances were on scene. Three passengers were going to be taken
to a hospital and three had minor injuries, according to the dispatcher.
