UPDATED: Man Found Dead On North 3rd Street in Montebello Monday Morning; Second Victim Also Treated

UPDATED AT 3:23 p.m.:

Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives are continuing to assist Montebello Police Department with their death investigation of man whose body was found laying in the street in the 140 block of N. 3rd Street, Montebello.

Investigators have learned that Montebello Police received a “man-down” call at that location and responded to the scene. Montebello officers observed two men in the street, both with numerous abrasion injuries. One victim (Hispanic male,17-20) was transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.

Officers attempted life-saving measures on the second man (Hispanic male, 20’s) and were joined in their effort by Montebello Fire Department personnel. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  Investigators have learned that an argument was heard from the area just prior to the call.

Members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Division were deployed Monday morning to the 140 Block of North 3rd Street in an effort to assist Montebello Police Department officials to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of an male adult.

Montebello PD responded to the scene at around 4:45 a.m. where the body was found.  A Sheriff’s press statement said that “o further information (was available) at this time.”
