Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detectives from the Cerritos Sheriff’s Station/Community Safety Center recently made an arrest of a robbery suspect in a purse-snatching incident.
On December 21, deputies from the Cerritos Sheriff’s Station responded to a call regarding a robbery that occurred at LA Fitness. A woman stated she had left the gym and was walking in the parking lot when a male suspect exited the passenger side of a vehicle and grabbed her purse. The suspect reentered the vehicle, which was driven away by a second suspect.
The victim provided the license plate number for the suspect vehicle. Cerritos Sheriff’s Station detectives actively pursued all leads and located the suspect vehicle in Long Beach. One suspect, a 20-year-old South Gate resident, was arrested for robbery. A follow-up investigation by Cerritos Sheriff’s Station detectives is underway.
