A 52-year-old former Lakewood High School teacher was charged with having sex with an underage girls from 2008-’11, Los Angeles County prosecutors announced today.
According to prosecutors, Mary Jahn began having sex with a 15-year-old female student in July 2008 continuing through July 2011.
Jahn was charged with nine felony counts: four counts of sexual penetration by foreign object, three counts of lewd acts upon a child and two counts of oral copulation of a person under 18, according to authorities.
Jahn was a teacher at Lakewood High School at the time of the reported crimes.
Prosecutors said the the now-adult victim alerted authorities about the sexual abuse earlier this year.
Long Beach police officers arrested Jahn on Wednesday after an investigation.
Jahn is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Long Beach Branch. If convicted as charged, Jahn faces a maximum possible sentence of eight years and four months in state prison.
