Cerritos Residents and Businesses Asked to Complete City Survey

The Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce plays a significant role in communicating the needs of the business community to elected officials at all levels of government. Currently, the City of Cerritos is gathering information from residents and the business community about how to address the City’s ongoing budget deficit – including reduction of expenditures or bringing in new revenue through a 1% sales tax increase. Please take the time to read the information below and complete the survey so that the Cerritos City Council may make an informed decision on how to manage this deficit.
From the City of Cerritos:
The City of Cerritos has a budget deficit due to changes in California State law that decreased local revenues. The Cerritos City Council is seeking input from the community regarding priorities for City services to help make informed decisions about potential budget reductions and possible sources of additional revenue. Cerritos community members are asked to complete this 5-minute survey to share their opinions.

    SURVEY IS SHORT——

Glad city council finally went ahead with this generic survey. I’m just wondering if it’s not too generic, don’t view residents getting involved in eliminating a lot of unnecessary Citywide programs: senior center and in our parks. I don’t think this survey is going to be completed by many, a lot of computers are broke in the HOMES, and a lot of the seniors seniors are not computer savvy to work this program.

Like to see a questionnaire on more budgetary line items and question not raised, how many residents are unhappy of the non returned calls from City Council and city employees. Who cares about rapid transportation, we need to vote by districts, many hoods in city have not been represented by any past council.

Know many of my neighbors are very turned off and Confused over the number of languages for the survey, I think it would have been less complicated, if you push the button, survey came up in a different language questionnaire. Hard to actually see the question being asked because of all the other language and letters hovering around the question.

Poor times , to talk about a sales tax, just getting out recession and Los Angeles County Voters are being hit with over half a dozen tax proposals , we could very easily end up with a 12 to 15% sales tax rate at the end of this election. Voters are broke and will vote no on all props and measures.

Pray the Cerritos community vote for the overnight parking ordinance and not vote or go ahead with the sales tax, because I don’t think the sales tax is going to really help our police department / Sheriff’s, is only a temporary band-aid,

1% sales tax doesn’t really add that much money. I think this residents spoke on ABC school bond, we already have 3 Mello Roos School Bonds.

I like the new campaign sign for the city of La Palma. No JJ, policeman first, and then the general budget. Yes , JJ does not guarantee money will go for the police. It will go to special interest councils in future.
