CERRITOS REGIONAL CHAMBER BOARD TAKES POSITIONS ON UPCOMING BALLOT MEASURES

The Chamber Supports Business and Education Priorities

CERRITOS, CA – October 12, 2016 – The Board of Directors of the Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce took positions on several measures appearing on the November 8th ballot. These measures include supporting investment in education and allowing for California hospitals to tax themselves to draw down additional Medi-Cal funding. The Chamber is opposing a group of measures that could have a negative impact on the local economy and/or community. These include the “No Blank Checks” initiative and the ban of plastic bags, as well as Measure M, the L.A. County traffic improvement plan.

“We take our role as the ‘voice of business’ seriously and my colleagues and I are proud of the positions we have taken on this group of ballot measures,” said Chamber Board Chair Teri Bazen. “Our hope is the State of California and County of Los Angeles will focus more on business friendly issues in the future.”
