Simple Prevention Tips

SECURE YOUR YARD

Make sure that exterior lights are in working order. Consider installing motion activated lighting for your front and rear yards. Trim trees and bushes near your windows and walkways to keep them visible. Cutting the trees and bushes back can eliminate dark shadows to prevent intruders from hiding. Planting thorny bushes or shrubs beneath the first floor windows will prevent easy access by a burglar. Do not leave ladders or tools out that can be used to break into your home. Make sure to keep your valuables out of sight. Break down the cardboard box that your new flat screen TV or computer came in and do not leave it visible by the recycling bin.

If you see suspicious person(s) or activity in your neighborhood or business, call Cerritos Sheriff’s Station at (562) 860-0044 or 911 immediately. It is a good idea to keep the Sheriff’s Station phone number stored in your cell phone for quick reference.
